With a love for the ocean and all things Mackay, Izzy knows what makes this area so special. We sat down with her to chat about life as a local, her favourite spots around town, and what she loves most about Dunes Harbour Beach.
Q: How long have you lived in Mackay?
A: Mackay has been my home for the past 10 years, and I honestly couldn’t imagine living anywhere else! The beautiful beaches, relaxed coastal vibe, and friendly locals make it such a special place.
Q: What are your hobbies when you’re not consulting here at Dunes?
A: You’ll usually find me walking or skating along the break wall at sunrise or sunset or at the beach, it’s my happy place. And if you ever spot me at the beach, you’ll notice I’m completely covered head to toe… otherwise, I’d end up looking like a tomato!
Q: What are your favourite spots to grab a bite to eat or drink?
A: When I’m not out enjoying the beach, I’m probably at The Surf Club sipping a soy hot chocolate in the morning or digging into a calamari salad for lunch. I’m also a total foodie, and I love Roshni Indian restaurant (seriously, so good!).

Q: What do you love most about Dunes Harbour Beach?
A: What I love most about the Dunes Harbour Beach community is how warm and welcoming everyone is. It’s amazing to see people coming together, making connections, and creating their own little slice of paradise here. I feel so lucky to work in such a beautiful place.
