We would like to inform you that, as part of the operational works approval granted by Mackay Regional Council for the next stages of Dunes, Harbour Beach estate, the southern section of Dunes Boulevard at Mackay Harbour will be closed from 17 March 2025. This closure is part of the traffic management plan to facilitate the completion of works.
What works will occur from 17 March?
The works will allow for the construction of Stages 1R2 and 1D which includes:
- the extension of Dunes Boulevard Road to an urban standard
- the addition of 33 new residential allotments
- the closure of the southern section of Dunes Boulevard at Mackay Harbour for approximately eight months.
What impacts can I expect over the next month?
A temporary access track will be available for emergency services, Turtle Watch, Yuwi, Reef Catchments, and Mackay Port Authority, who manage the Mackay Harbour foreshore and the Pioneer River mouth at Eastpoint.
- This access will be gated and restricted to the aforementioned stakeholders only.
- There will be no access for the general public.
Important notice for anglers and 4WD owners:
- Please be aware that the temporary closure of Dunes Boulevard means there will be no vehicle access to the river mouth via The Harbour during this period.
We will endeavour to minimise any impact and or inconvenience caused by the above works and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during the development of Dunes, Harbour Beach.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
